Arithmetic, not oracle
Every rating in Cazimera is math you could do on paper. Here’s how we do it, including the parts we’re still unsure about. If you disagree with a weight, you’re disagreeing with a number in a table, which is the point.
§ 01 · THE SUM
score = clamp( baseline(category) + Σ personal + Σ collective , 0 , 100 )
BASELINE
Where a specific categorized task starts before any transit is applied: 52 to 57 depending on the category. Not a judgment, just the middle of the road, so a quiet day starts near Mixed instead of near zero.
Σ PERSONAL · “YOU”
Transits to your natal chart. Each transit contributes a number, roughly −18 to +22, scaled by how relevant that planet is to that category and by how tight the orb is.
Σ COLLECTIVE · “EVERYONE”
What’s true for everyone: sign ingresses, lunations, eclipses, stations, cazimis, retrogrades, void-of-course windows. Smaller weights than personal transits, and never hidden inside them.
CLAMP
The scale is fixed, so a pile-up of challenging transits stops at zero instead of stacking into a doom number. 0 and 100 both are possible and both are rare.

This is version one of the weighting table, and the part of the app most likely to change. It was built from traditional significations: the houses that a category belongs to and the planets that rule them. It still needs a working astrologer’s pass, so if you are one, write to us.

§ 04 · WHAT’S IN A TRANSIT
Nothing in Cazimera is generated literary prose. Every line you read was created by a human, or a template filled from a record, which is why the app can show you its work and why two people with the same transit will see the same sentence.

Whether it is still approaching or already moving past.
orb
How far off exact, in degrees.
house
Which section of your chart it falls in.
The last four only surface when you turn on Show chart data everywhere. Practitioner depth is one switch away, and off by default.
§ 05 · NIGHT DIMMING
A field painted at full brightness across all 24 hours reads as though 3am were a reasonable time to launch something. So the display dims the uncommon hours, 11pm to 5am. The score for these hours never changes; only the visual does.

§ 06 · SPECIAL EVENTS

Void of course
Between the Moon’s last aspect and its next sign, traditional practice says finish things up rather than start something new. It subtracts from Money, Business, and Self, and adds to Home. The app draws it as a hatched band, not a warning.

Retrogrades
A standing subtraction for the categories that planet rules, largest for Mercury on Travel and Business. It doesn’t zero anything out and it never says don’t do something. The ribbon tells you when it ends.
☉ ☌ ☿
Cazimi
A planet within seventeen arcminutes (a conjunction) of the Sun. The app is named for it: rare, brief, and the one transit that only ever adds. About an hour where what that planet governs comes out unusually favorable.

Eclipses
Always on the calendar, never a catastrophe. An eclipse is a lunation with a longer reach; it gives shape to a month more than any single day.

No birth time
A noon chart is used and house detail degrades to ranges. The app says so on the screen where it matters, and the Sun-based part of every score still holds.

Stations
The days a planet stops before turning are weighted more heavily than the retrograde on either side of them, because the app treats a planet standing still as the loudest thing it does.
§ 07 · WHAT WE DON’T CLAIM
Where we know we’re limited
Astrology isn’t a physical mechanism with a measured effect size, and we don’t pretend the score is indicative of an outcome. What the app can do is put a consistent, transparent, traditional astrological reading next to your calendar, the same way every time, so you can decide whether it’s useful to you.
Nothing here is medical, legal, financial, or any other concrete advice, and nothing in the app will ever encourage you to cancel or move something.

The weighting table is defensible but it’s ours. It was created by an astrology hobbyist. It should be reviewed by someone who does this for a living.

Score is already shown by brightness and numerals, but category identity is still color-only. Glyph labels and pattern encoding are being designed now.

When you cross time zones, which chart should the day be read against? Currently your home location. Arguable that it should change.
